Rs 35 lakh announced for development of Jagiroad Stadium

JAGIROAD: Jagiroad MLA and Urban Development and Health & Family Welfare Minister Piyush Hazarika on Sunday announced Rs 35 lakh for development of Jagiroad Stadium and another Rs 5 lakh for uplift of Jagiroad Sahitya Sabha Bhavan.

While addressing the annual general meeting of the Jagiroad Sports Association (JSA), Hazarika emphasized the need of development of playgrounds of the State for physical, mental and financial growth of the upcoming generation. The meeting, with working president Jitendra Kumar Deka in the chair, formed the new committee of the JSA with Piyush Hazarika as president, Jitendera Kumar Deka as working president and Robin Sarma as general secretary. The annual general meeting was attended by all the clubs under the JSA.

The minister in an another meeting with the office bearers of the Jagiroad Sakha Sahitya Sabha on that day, assured Rs 5 lakh for development of the Sahitya Sabha Bhavan. The minister also assured release of Rs 50,000 for the golden jubilee function of the Sahitya Sabha, Jagiroad.
