Sports organizer Partha Gogoi passes away in Guwahati
Sports organizer Partha Jyoti Gogoi died today after brief illness. He was 57.

GUWAHATI: Sports organizer Partha Jyoti Gogoi died today after brief illness. He was 57.
Gogoi, who was the general secretary of the Assam Golf Association, was also an avid golfer. He was actively associated with North East Tennis Foundation too for last several years and was instrumental to host several tennis competitions in the city.
Assam Golf Association today mourned the death of Gogoi. In a condolence message the association said that Gogoi was a person of amiable nature and a hearty laughter. He was friends with one and all. The association will deeply miss his towering presence.
A condolence meeting was also held at the North East Tennis Foundation (NETF) complex today to mourn the death of Gogoi. In a release the association said that he was a keen sports lover and was associated with the North East Tennis Foundation for last several years. Gogoi was instrumental in organising sponsorship for several sporting events organised by North East Tennis Foundation. It's a big loss for the Foundation.
