Sudeva's hunt for talents kicks off in Nampong

A month long Sudeva's football training and trial camp finally kicked off formally here on Monday at Nampong playground.

BORDUMSA: A month long Sudeva's football training and trial camp finally kicked off formally here on Monday at Nampong playground.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Deeptu Mungrey the ZPM Nampong who was the chief guest on the occasion along with other dignitaries including Idam Bagra the SDO Nampong, Samba Changmi the President Changlang District Football Association, Noah Mongku the District Sports Officer Changlang.

The physical session of the maiden day event started after offering condolence to late Abbo Kimsing the captain and founding goalkeeper of famous Hailgate football team of Nampong. He died earlier in the month of February 2021.

Around 50 students from various schools of Nampong participated in the camp organised for three segments including U-13, U-15 and U 17.

Uttam Singh the head coach at Delhi based Sudeva Football Academy for U - 15 catagory during his address to the Sentinel briefed about the technical aspects of the training and trail session including the skills, gaming and other parameters to determine the selection process of the footballing youths.

"The few selected participants from Nampong would be further be tested in subsequent rounds till the final selection test slated on 30th at Maio. Iam looking for the talent youths and am confident that I would definitely be able to pick up 2 players for further training at Delhi Sudeva Academy," said the coach.

Meanwhile Mungrey, the Chief Guest of the event, during his inaugural address expressed gratefulness towards the district administration for the initiative undertaken for the first time in Changlang District to promote and encourage the local talents.

"Nampong known so far as the birth place of Pangsau Pass International festival being located along the Indo -Myanmer would be known further for holding the maiden training and trial session by organisation like Sudeva FC," said Mungrey.

"After two days of camping here in Nampong, we would be having the training and selection trail events in Manmao, Jairampur, Kharsang, Diyun, Innao, Bordumsa and Miao in a phased manner. The programme would be completed within a month period."
