Thakur assures Arunachal to sanction sports projects on priority

ITANAGAR: Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Anurag Thakur has assured Arunachal Pradesh to attach priority on all pending projects related to development of sports in the state.

Thakur gave his assurance when State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung called on him at the national capital on Friday, an official communique informed here on Saturday.

During the call on, the sporting potential of the north east, particularly Arunachal Pradesh was discussed between the two leaders.

Natung requested the minister for his continued support to create state of the art sports infrastructures in the state to which the latter assured his support.

Thakur also complimented Natung on the success of the 'Air Gun Surrender Abhiyan' and said that it should be replicated across the country.

State Sports and Youth Affairs secretary Anirudh Singh accompanied Natung during his visit, the communiqué added.
