Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation Demands Probe Into Mob Lynching

SHILLONG: The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) has condemned the lynching of three persons by a mob in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district.

Two victims were killed and another person was critically injured in the attack on February 15.

The ACHDO has also demanded a magisterial probe in to the incident and compensation to both of the victims and the injured.

The two killed has been identified as Mikseng Marak of Dawagre and Mokibul Akond of Pushkonipara and another Bita Rabha is injured.

The ACHDO has also urged the State Government to form an anti-moral policing and anti-mob lynching police squads (unit) which should be available in every police outpost so that such kinds of incident do not occur in the future.

The organization also said the incident has created fear psychosis in the minds of the people and has appealed to every citizen to maintain peace.

It may be mentioned that on February 15, the three were caught by a mob at Chanangpara, West Garo Hills district and thrashed on suspicion of being dacoits.
