BJP to introspect election setbacks in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: The State Executive Meeting of the BJP Meghalaya was held on Saturday. The executive meeting took all the setbacks in elections held in the State seriously.

"After careful analysis, it has been observed that the pre-election calculation and expectation did not match the ground reality as we may have failed to identify negative trends on time and hence have not managed to rectify them," the state unit of the BJP said.

The state unit of the BJP said that to introspect the party's current situation, it will be constituting a committee comprising of state office bearers, state executive members, karyakartas and party well-wishers. "This committee will also review our performances in various elections and submit a constructive report which will suggest future action plans," a statement from the party stated.

The BJP also said that time and again the State unit has expressed concern and raised its voice against corruption. "We pledge to fight corruption till we are able to put an end to it," the party stated.
