Border Security Force (BSF) celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Divas, Shillong

SHILLONG: To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day), the Border Security Force (BSF) organized a series of events at Frontier Headquarters Umpling, Sector Headquarters Mawpat and Dobasipara as well as other location of BSF battalions in Meghalaya, stated a release.

The day started with the conduct of “2 km marchpast for unity” followed by Oath Taking Parade by the sentinels of a border. All the troops on duty also took a pledge to work for the unity of the nation and the pledge was given by L Mohanti, IPS Inspector General Meghalaya.

During the ‘March-past for unity’ from Mawpat, UK Nayal, DIG/PRO took part and apprised the troops about the life and vision of Sardar Patel.
