Garo MDCs make their stand clear For Joining National Peoples’ Party (NPP)

SHILLONG: Three out of the four MDCs of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), who recently left the Congress, have clarified that they have not joined the National Peoples’ Party (NPP) as had been widely circulated earlier. The 3 Congress MDCs stated that they have decided to support the current NPP-led EC in the council but have not joined the party.

“As there is no anti-defection law on support in the GHADC, we are only extending our support to the EC. The statement that we joined the NPP is false,” clarified Rupert Sangma, one of the MDCs to offer support.

The two others who wished to clarify their stand are Mark Goera B Marak and Kenadic S Marak.

However, there was no clarification on the matter by the fourth MDC in question, Ismail Marak.
