Highest single-day spike in Meghalaya with 82 COVID-19 new cases

SHILLONG,: Meghalaya on Sunday recorded the highest single day spike with 82 new cases. West Garo Hills recorded the highest with 48 fresh ones (BSF: 39 and others nine); 20 from East Khasi Hills (including five from BSF and 15 others); and 14 from Ri-Bhoi, informed Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman Warr.

The total active cases in the State now stands at 693 with East Khasi Hills registering with 383 (BSF 71, armed forces 70 and others 242); West Garo Hills: 183; Ri-Bhoi: 100; North Garo Hills: eight; five each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills; three each from West Khasi Hills, South West Garo Hills, and West Khasi Hills; South Garo Hills: two; and South West Khasi Hills: one. Dr Warr also informed that the State also recorded 79 recoveries. East Khasi Hills recorded 75 (BSF:21; civilians: 51; and armed forces: three); three from Ri-Bhoi and one from West Jaintia Hills.
