Inner Line Permit issue: Congress MLA Charles Pyngrope demands resignation of the Deputy Chief Minister

SHILLONG: Congress MLA from Nongthymmai constituency in Meghalaya, Charles Pyngrope has stated that if Bindo M Lanong, who was the chairman of a committee on Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the year 2011-12, had suggested to the government at that time to implement ILP and if the government did not listen to his suggestion then he should have resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister.

It may be mentioned that Lanong recently had said that the committee led by him as chairman has proposed the implementation of ILP in the State. However, the then Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma had not taken any steps on this issue.
