Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council meeting on Oct 3 in Shillong

SHILLONG: The Executive Committee meeting of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Tuesday informed that a meeting will be held on October 3 with all the stakeholders at Jaiaw Student Field from 11 am onwards to discuss on the issue of Council of Traditional Chief and Headmen Rule 2018.

The meeting will be attended by Myntri’s and Syiem of different Himas, Sordar, traditional chief, Lyngdoh beside others and during the first session the district council will explain the purpose of the Council of Traditional Chief and Headmen Rule 2018.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, KHADC CEM HS Shylla informed that members to the Council will also be elected during the meeting amongst the traditional chiefs, headmen, sordar, myntris and other present at the meeting. “We have issued an invitation however we urged all the Myntri and headmen who might not have been informed to attend the meeting,” he said.

The EC has also discussed on the issue of MUDA building by laws and the immediate need to create the Town and rural development department at the district council.

“The department at district council should function in line with department at MUDA,” he said.
