Guwahati: Meghalaya has registered another fresh case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, June 30. It has been reported that the patient has traveled from Assam (Guwahati). With this, the number of active cases in the Northeast Indian state rose to 9.

"One more person who came from Assam (Guwahati)has tested positive for COVID 19 in Khliehriat.", Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wrote on Twitter.

In India, a huge spike of 18,522 new coronavirus patients was recorded in the last 24 hours, taking India's tally to 5,66,840 cases. A total of 16,893 patients have died since the beginning of the pandemic, the Union Health Ministry said.
