Mawlai MDC Teibor Pathaw Bats For Shifting of Garbage Disposal Site

SHILLONG: Mawlai MDC Teibor Pathaw on Saturday expressed confidence that the demand of the people of Mawlai for shifting the present garbage disposal area at Mawlai Marten will be taken up seriously by the government and especially urged the Minister of Urban Affairs to take action on this regard.

There has been a growing demand to shift the garbage disposal site from Mawlai Marten to some other area.

Pathaw said this while donating Rs 1 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund CMRF). He donated the amount to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma during the inauguration of the Mawlai bypass.

The Chief Minister welcomed the donation made by the local MDC of the area towards the Relief Fund, and said that the amount will go a long way in providing assistance to those people affected by the recent floods in the city and across the State due to heavy rains.

The donation was made in the presence of the public gathered to attend the inauguration function and Deputy Chief Minister of the State Prestone Tynsong beside others.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Pathaw expressed his gratitude towards the MDA government including Meghalaya Chief Minister and Home Minister James K Sangma for realizing the aspiration of the people of Mawlai by opening the Mawlai bypass and the Police outpost.

Meanwhile, the Mawlai: 19-Social Service Organisation (M:19-SSO) has also expressed their gratitude towards the State government, Mawlai MDC and the Mawlai Town Dorbar for the construction and opening of the Police Outpost and inaugurating the Mawlai bypass.
