Meghalaya Minister James Sangma tests COVID-19 positive | 12 Sep, 2020

Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in Manipur today, reports said

Guwahati: Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in Manipur today, reports said.

"James Sangma reportedly tested positive at the Imphal Airport today; as per information, he could be brought back to Meghalaya via road," a source informed The Sentinel Digital.

In a June test, the cabinet minister Sangma and his family tested negative in both antigen and truenat tests conducted at Tura in West Garo Hills.

Sangma had reportedly gotten "As responsible citizens, me and my family along with my staff got ourselves tested for Covid-19 with the Antigen and Truenat tests today at Tura even though none of us came in contact with any Covid positive patients."

However, the Minister today tested positive in Manipur on the day when the National People's Party's (NPP) was inaugurated by his brother and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.

The Deputy of Manipur, Yumnam Joykumar Singh, Cabinet Ministers from National People' Party and party members also attended the inaugural ceremony.
