Meghalaya SDMA to Organize Training on Disaster Preparedness

Shillong: The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) is organizing two days workshop cum training programme on ‘Disaster Preparedness for People with Disabilities, Women, Children and other Vulnerable Groups’ scheduled to be held on the October 4 and 5 at Pinewood Hotel, Shillong. Resource persons from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Bethany Society, Shillong, Ashadeep Society, Guwahati and other renounced non-government organizations (NGOs) from outside the State will impart training in the programme. Officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Commissioner of Person with Disabilities (PWD), representatives NGOs working in the field of PWD, faculty members and students from universities and colleges will be attending the said workshop. This has been stated in a press release.
