NCC selection camp for North Eastern Region (NER) concludes at Umroi, Shillong

SHILLONG: The combined annual training-cum-inter-group competitions camp being organised by NCC Group HQ Shillong under the aegis of NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER) concluded at Umroi Cantonment on Sunday. The camp started on October 26 with the primary aim of selection of North Eastern Region NCC contingent for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) to be held in New Delhi in January 2019.

A large number of competitions like Drill, Guard of Honour, Cultural and Flag Area were conducted during the 10-day-long camp to select the team for RDC in New Delhi.

The camp saw the participation of approximately 500 NCC cadets from the entire North East Region.

Major General Raju Chauhan, Additional Director General, NER, who graced the closing ceremony of the camp on November 3, witnessed the grand cultural event by the cadets showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the North Eastern States.

In his address, the ADG congratulated the cadets on the successful completion of the camp and also complemented the Shillong Group and the Training Team on the excellent conduct of the camp.

The ADG also gave away the prizes to the cadets who had displayed exemplary performance during various inter-group competitions.
