NEIGRIHMS Director says he is Open to Enquiry on Alleged Anomalies

SHILLONG: The North Eastern Institute Indira Gandhi Institute regional Insitute of Health and Medical Science (NEIGRIHMS ) controversial saga continues after the Director Dr DM Thappa’s open declaration that he is ready for any high-level inquiry as proposed by the Meghalaya Government on the alleged anomalies in the institute.

For quite a while there has been a great tussle between the management and the head of the cardiology department headed by Dr Animesh Mishra. It came to a flashpoint when the issue of a patient admitted in the premier institute was raised in the State assembly.

The NEIGRIHMS official statement virtutually indicated that there are cases because the cardiology department has a deal with local vendors outside the hospital.
