Opposition leader Mukul Sangma says Meghalaya Democratic Alliance misusing institutions

Shillong: State leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Monday alleged the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government of being involved in manipulation and tampering of institutions. Using strong words like “manipulative, tampering and misuse” of government institutions and departments by the political executive, Dr Sangma told newsmen at a press conference here that the State is moving towards a dangerous trend.

“The State is in the soup in respect of resources, mismanagement of resources and blatant interference of the people in power to realize revenue”, Dr Sangma alleged without naming who are those political executives that are behind it.

Asserting his views on the alleged “manipulation and tampering” of the institutions and departments, the leader of Opposition in his criticism against the State Government stated, “Political executives will come and go but you cannot ignore these manipulated and tampered institutions to be incompetent and corrupt.”

He added, “Something is going on where the revenue that should be accrued to the State exchequer is being looted”, he further warned, “We will expose this government and we will not let it go scot-free.”

Adding to the alleged illegal transportation of coal from the State, Sangma went an extra yard that the present government is the facilitator of the entire business.
