Shillong, June 25: The Meghalaya Government is to receive Rs 200 crore from the Union Government for water resources management in the State. Confirming this to The Sentinel on Monday, the State Minister in-charge of Water Resources, Metbah Lyngdoh said that the amount has been allotted to 68 approved projects throughout the State. “The approved money has already been sanctioned for the first quarter of the financial year,” Lyngdoh stated. Though the minister did not spell out the details of the approved projects, yet he was clear in saying that they would be carried out in a time-bound manner. He claimed that it is the Union Ministry that accorded the funds based on the presentations made by the expertise of the State.
