Mizo youth travels 3,345 km in 84 hrs to ensure that friend's body is laid to rest in state

GUWAHATI: Raphael AVL Malchhanhima, from Mizoram has traveled 3,345 km in 84 hrs to ensure that friend's body is laid to rest in the state.

After the demise of his friend from heart attack, he along with two drivers from Tamil Nadu completed a trip from Chennai to Aizawl covering a distance of 3,345 km in 84 hrs to make sure that the mortal remains of his friend, Vivian Remsanga, reach his native place where he can be buried.

Mizo Welfare Association of Chennai said that amid lockdown arranging for such a journey was difficult but they had learnt of two drivers who were happy to take this journey.

The journey started from tarting in Tamil Nadu, and crossed through Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam, and then finally Mizoram.

The drivers would alternately drive for eight hours and Raphael would keep to the GPS.

The drivers were facilitated in the state and a lot of respect was showered on them by people of Mizoram.

Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga tweeted, "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You've just shown what every Mizo heartbeat means when it comes to the term "Tlawmngaihna"!"
