Assam Rifles conducts lectures against drugs at Darnamtlang village

AIZAWL: Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a lecture on "Anti-Drug Awareness" at Darnamtlang village on 25 June 2022. A total of 25 locals attended the lecture.

The lecture aimed to promote fitness and motivate the villagers not to indulge in drug abuse and educate adolescents about illicit drug use to prevent illegal drug use while highlighting the dangers of problematic substance use. The locals of Darnamtlang village were very happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles, a press release said.

The Serchhip Battalion 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) also conducted the Awareness Lecture on Drug Abuse at Farkawn village on 25 Jun 2022.

The lecture aimed to educate the villagers about the ill effects of drugs in any form and to promote the Government of India's initiative 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign' amongst the troops and the local populace. The effects on health due to abuse of recreational drugs were also discussed. The long-term illness and the aftermath of family problems were part of the interactive lecture, to give them an insight into the future, another press release said.
