AIZAWL: Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized various civic programmes among the masses across Mizoram.

PRE-RECRUITMENT SCREENING CAMP: The Lunglei (Naga Hills) Battalion conducted a 'Pre Recruitment Screening Camp' on March 1at Lawngtlai and selected 32 candidates for pre-recruitment training for enrollment in Security forces. The aim of the camp was to select potential candidates for training and provide guidance for enrolment in Army/Assam Rifles and CAPF. The local people appreciated the goodwill gesture shown by Assam Rifles for providing knowledge and help to local youth about the processes of enrolment and to get employed in Armed Forces.

GUIDANCE FOR CANDIDATES in MILITARY NURSING SERVICE : In a move for women empowerment and also to widen the perspectives of the youth in Mizoram, the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles has commenced a MNS (Military Nursing Service) Guidance Capsule for young women of Mizoram with effect from March 1 to April 10 the Battalion Headquarters here. The six-week capsule will be conducted in three phases.

Phase-I was conducted from February 23 to 25 with a screening test in which 60 candidates were screened. The result was confirmed on February 26. Phase-II commenced with registration of selected candidates from February 17 to March 10. Phase-III started with an opening ceremony, followed by registration and guidance capsule for the candidates. The guidance capsule focuses on various subjects like Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, English, Reasoning, Current Affairs and practice of previous question papers. Special emphasis will be given on qualitative and quantitative improvement with weekly progress tests.

The Capsule which is scheduled from March 1 to April 10. It is set to achieve a range of goals including uplift of society with new avenues of opportunities and feel of nationalism in the youth of Mizoram thereby achieving the ultimate goal of encouraging them to become national assets.

Various ex-Army veterans also motivated the aspiring candidates to excel in their life. Brig. Digvijay Singh, Cdr 23 Sector AR encouraged the aspiring youth to join MNS Cadre and to serve nation with dignity and pride. The youths and local dignitaries appreciated the continuous efforts of Assam Rifles who continually work towards the wellbeing of the Mizo society.

Lecture ORGANIZED: The Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles organized a Lecture on 'How to Join Army/Assam Rifles And Other CAPFs' at Leitlangpui Higher Secondary School, Chanmari, Lunglei on March 3. During the lecture, the students were informed about roles of the defence forces, various entrance/examinations, eligibility in respect of qualification/age, procedure to apply, duration of training, pay/ privileges/ facilities and opportunities.

While interacting with the students, it was observed that though many among them were keen to join forces yet but due to the lack of knowledge about the eligibility and means to apply for entrance examination they were not able to utilize the opportunity. A total of 200 students and teaching staff of the school attended the event. The school administration thanked for conducting the lecture and requested for similar lectures to be conducted in other institutions also.
