CBI Registers Case Against Intelligence Officer From Mizoram
The case has been registered against the senior intelligence officer (SIO) of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Aizawl Regional Unit after he was found to have an alleged disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.72, 27,768 approx.
Aizwal: A case has been registered against a senior intelligence officer (SIO) of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Aizawl Regional Unit (Superintendent of Customs and now on loan to DRI) by the Central Bureau of Investigation after he was found to have alleged disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.72, 27,768 approx.
Sources said that the asset which was found in the name of the SIO is against 80% income.
Source informed that the accused SIO official during the period January, 2014 to May, 2021, had reportedly acquired huge assets, both movable and immovable to the tune of Rs.1,42,71,447,(approx) including three Homestead lands at Kangpokpi (Manipur); two RCC buildings at Imphal East and at Aizawl and bank balances etc, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs.72,27,768 (approx).
The officials of CBI on Friday have carried out a search operation at the home and on the office of the SIO at Aizwal and in Imphal.
They have found documents related to purchase of the land, bank accounts in the name of accused and wife maintained at various banks, insurance policies, luxurious household articles and other incriminating documents.
Earlier, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption of Assam has arrested one Sub-Inspector of Assam police while allegedly taking a bribe. The Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) GP Singh has said that Sub Inspector Abdul Jalil of Golaghat Sadar Police Station was arrested red-handed on Thursday by a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption of Assam while accepting Rs 10, 000 out of demand Rs 30, 000.
