International Yoga Day 2022: Assam Rifles conducts mass Yoga in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The Aizawl Battalion under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted "Mass Yoga as a part of Yoga Utsav and 8th International Yoga Day 2022" at Zokhawsang, New Vaikhawtlang, Hnahlan, Mimbung, Kawlbem, Ngopa company operating bases and Battalion Headquarters, Aizawl on June 3 2022. A total of 406 troops attended the same.

The event was organized to encourage the troops to inculcate yoga in their lifestyle. The event proceeded with creating awareness about COVID - 19 preventive measures followed by various yogasanas and lectures by medical officers and staff on physical and mental health.

The event also aimed at educating all ranks about the various Yoga postures and breathing techniques that help to keep one physically and mentally fit. During the event, all ranks were also educated on how yoga helps in building body awareness, strength, flexibility and fighting the fatigue of the body and mind.

The event gave wide publicity to various dimensions of Yoga and its utility, a press release said.
