KOHIMA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima, Shanavas C in an order has informed the general public that off-road vehicles and roadside dumped construction materials are causing obstruction for free movement of vehicles and defacement of public spaces, thereby, creating public nuisance.

Hence, all such off-road vehicles and roadside dumped construction materials along certain stretches are to be immediately removed from the public road on or before Tuesday, October 25. In the event of refusal or failure to comply with this order, the authority will take necessary action as per the penal provision of the law, informed DIPR, Nagaland.

The obstruction-removal has to be carried out at the following stretches: TCP Gate till IG Stadium, High School Junction till New Secretariat and Razhü Point till TCP gate via Assam Rifles Camp.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, Dr Zasekuolie Chusi has informed that development activities are being carried out for widening of the stretch of road from the junction near Deputy Commissioner's official residence to the road junction intersecting NH-2 beside M/s Noami Kent LPG Agency, Tseminyu town. The portion of the Government-allotted plots of land situated alongside the aforementioned road stretch falls within the proposed road-widening area surveyed by the Office of the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Tseminyu.

As per the terms and conditions of the allotment order issued by the Government, it is clearly stated that the Government will take over the land allotted from the allottee(s) if required by the Government, and for which no alternative side may be allotted. Therefore, the Government will take over the portions of the allotted land falling within the aforementioned surveyed road area for the public utility with immediate effect.

In the light of the above notice, all concerned allottees have been asked to clear and remove any material/construction structure from the earmarked road widening area within a period of 15 days. Failure to comply with the notice along with necessary compliant action within the specified period by the concerned allottees will attract appropriate action, including removal/demolition of material/standing structure on the earmarked stretch of public road.
