Tripura minister assures transparency in college admission

Agartala, July 10: The Higher Education Department has started a help desk in their office to help students who are unable to get admission in colleges and has also decided to extend the last date for admission.

Education minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “Full transparency will be maintained during the admission process and the students will get chance for admission on the basis of the score and percentage they have secured.”

He made the statement following confusion being spread from various quarters that many student will not get the chance for admission. The minister said this is for the first time on line admission process has been introduced in the state and there is no scope for any kind of manipulation. He advised the students unable to get admission to contact the Higher Education Department and the help desk will solve their problem. He also assured that all the students will get chance for admission in college and there is no reason to be tensed.

Meanwhile the Democratic Students Organisation, the students wing of the SUCI, in a statement expressed grave concern that many students may be deprived of higher education. A delegation led by DSO secretary Mridul Kanti Sarkar met the director of the higher education and requested him to ensure that all the students get admitted in college.
