Fashion Reality Show: North East's New Top Model

North East's New Top Model - a new fashion-based reality series will be shown on the Assam Talks Channel every Saturday and Sunday, as well as repeats of those shows on the weekdays. The viewers will be able to see quite a few kids, men and women vie for the title of North East's New Top Model. The show will provide them with an opportunity to kick-start their career in the modeling industry. The series is going to be hosted by a known celebrity from the Assamese film industry and will be judged by three well-known personalities from the fashion industry. A number of popular models, consultants and grooming experts will feature as mentors. The finalists will be chosen after the audition rounds, which will be held in different places of the Northeast. Currently, the online audition of the show is going on. Those interested can either send their entries to northeastnewtopmodel@gmail.com or call at the number - 8011987870.

In the 'KIDS' segment, young girls and boys from different parts of the Northeast will compete against each another to perform a series of tasks. This show is not just a fashion show, but a reality show, where the contestants will be furnished with different challenges and tasks to prove themselves. The winner will receive a cash award along with a one year contract with Sanchita Production. The seven sisters and one brother of Northeast India - Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim - each have their own distinct and colourful traditional attires that are very different from one another. The traditional attires worn by the women of Northeast India are vibrant and unique, and have a charm of their own. They also have their own unique set of traditional jewelry. Unfortunately, not much is known about these traditional attires or jewelries in the rest of the world.

"The aim of our show is to highlight and showcase the traditional dresses and jewelries of different tribes and communities of the Northeast in addition to providing a proper platform to all the participants," the show's director Sanchita Talukdar said. The show is produced by Jyoti Kakati under the banner of Sanchita Production.
