Assam Accord's Clause 6 committee submits report to CM Sonowal at Brahmaputra Guest House, Guwahati

The high-level committee on Assam Accord's Clause 6 submits its report to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 25, 2020, in the presence of the entire State Cabinet at Brahmaputra Guest House, Guwahati.

The high-powered panel headed by Justice Biplab Kumar Sarma was formed to give recommendations to implement Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.

It is to be noted that Clause 6 of the Assam Accord envisages that appropriate constitutional, legislative and administrative safeguards should be provided to protect, preserve and promote the cultural, social, linguistic identity and heritage of the ethnic Assamese.
