Health Department takes strict measures to fight coronavirus

The state Health Department has taken some strict measures to fight against the dreaded novel coronavirus, claimed NHM Assam Executive Director Dr. AC Baishya. Dr. Baishya informed media that the Health Department asked those who are returning from places like Bangalore, Kerala to keep themselves in self -isolation for 14 days so they won't infect their families if they have the virus.

As there are no vaccines or medicines for coronavirus, the Department is taking all kind of preventive measures to check the dreaded virus, he said. He further said that the Department has issued notification for the temporary closure of all kind of social gatherings like nightclubs, bars etc. Besides, the Department has also taken steps to screen people as much as possible to make sure the virus cannot enter Assam. Officials have also been distributing leaflets to passengers who have been screened at Railways, bus stations and airports. It has asked all hospitals to keep Isolation beds for Corona patients apart from keeping places for those who might be quarantined.
