Live street programme organized on the occasion of 'Mahalaya' in Golaghat's Sarupathar

The much-awaited Navaratri celebrations started across India with devotees observing 'Mahalaya' on Saturday morning at around 4 am. In Sanskrit, 'Maha' means great and 'Alaya' means abode and the festival marks the homecoming of Goddess Durga.
