State Health Department is prepared to counter novel coronavirus

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika on Saturday confirmed that not a single person from Assam has been affected from novel coronavirus so far.

Addressing a press conference here in Guwahati, Hazarika also mentioned that the State Health Department is taking necessary measures to counter the novel coronavirus in the State.

Around 585 people have been medically examined at various airports in Assam so far, out of which 112 people were kept under surveillance, but no positive cases in Assam have been reported yet, informed the cabinet minister.

The minister has also appealed before the people of Assam not to panic over the coronavirus situation, adding to that he also urged them to remain cautious.
