Workshop Cum Training on Investigation Abroad and Extradition held at Guwahati

With the steady rise of Illegal and Addictive Drugs in the state, the Deputy Control Bureau and Assam Police are taking some measures to tackle the problem.

A Workshop was organized today at Assam Police Radio Organization Conference Hall at Ulubari to show what steps can be taken to properly combat the threat of drug proliferation into the state and what instruments are available to deal with the distributors abroad.

Assam Police DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta spoke how most of the illegal drugs came from abroad, particularly from South East Asia like the Golden Triangle. While they've taken steps to destroy Poppy cultivation wherever they can find them in Assam, the insertion of Amphetamine derivatives into the NorthEast Region from outside India is major cause of concern.
