AHMEDABAD: Delhi Capitals regained the top position in the points table of Indian Premier League with 7-wicket win over Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night.

This is DC's sixth win in 8 matches while Punjab Kings lost their 5th match in 8 matches to remain at sixth place.

Chasing 167 runs to win, DC reached the target in 17.4 overs losing 3 wickets. In-form opener Shikhar Dhawan remained unbeaten at 69 off 47 balls. He put on 63 runs in 6 overs with Prithvi Shaw (39) for the first wicket. Steven Smith made 24 while Hetmyer remained unbeaten at 16.

Earlier, Mayank Agarwal was unbeaten on 99 off 58 balls on his debut as Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain and led his team to 166/6 in 20 overs. Opener Agarwal became only the second batsman after Suresh Raina in 2013 to end an innings on 99.

He hit two fours and a six off the last three balls of the innings and out up a partnership of 52 runs for the third wicket with Dawid Malan (26) and a 41-run stand for the fifth wicket with Shahrukh Khan (4)
