The reigning Asian Games champion scored 244.2 points in the final. Sung Yunho of South Korea was a distant second with 236.7 points. Switzerland’s Jason Solari took the bronze medal with a score of 215.6.
This was India’s third gold medal at the Games. This edition has turned out to be a historic one for the Indian contingent as previously India had never won gold at the YOG.
Earlier Saurabh created a new junior world record to clinch the air pistol junior men gold in the 52nd ISSF Shooting World Championship in Changwon last month. (IANS)
