NEW DELHI: On November 16, 2013, exactly 24 years after his debut, Tendulkar played his final international innings. This makes the date noteworthy for the entire former batsman follower around the world.

8 years ago, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from international cricket, his cricketing career spans two decades. After his Test match against the West Indies at his home venue, he withdrew from all forms of cricket. Few people have had as much influence on world cricket as former cricketers like him. The Board of Cricket Control India (BCCI) took Twitter to mark his momentous journey.

Tendulkar made his debut in a Test match between India and Pakistan at Karachi who was 16 at that time, came to the crease when India was in trouble at 41/4 in the test. The batsman scored only 15 runs in a 32 run partnership with Mohammad Azharuddin before dismissing by Younis, the match ended in a tie but it gave rise to unprecedented heights of Sachin Tendulkar as a cricketer.

In the final match in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, his home pitch made 68th international test match scoring 74 off 118 balls. The 'God of cricket 'did play a tremendous knock in his final outing, offering spectators one more glance of the brilliance that was Tendulkar's batting. After the contest, the former Indian cricketer gave a heart-touching address thanking his family and teammates for their support. "My life, between 22 yards for 24 years, it is hard to believe that that journey has come to an end." He mentioned.

His international career as the highest run-scorer in cricket history came to an end. He has remained the coach of his old Indian premier league (IPL) team, Mumbai Indians, since then.
