51 Assam officers facing graft charges

Guwahati, March 9: Fifty one government officers in the State are facing corruption charges.

The 51 officers have been med in 29 cases registered by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing since 2011 in the State, the Assembly was informed today. Some of the officers also face charges of disproportiote assets.

In response to a query by AGP MLA Keshav Mahanta, minister Rockybul Hussain said inquiry is on in these cases. Also, regular inquiries have been initiated in 85 cases involving 139 government offices since January, 2011.
