GUWAHATI, May 29: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is all set for its next annual general meeting as the members of the governing body, which met today at the Barsapara cricket stadium, completed the necessary formalities of the meet. The AGM will be held at the same venue on June 12.

Although there were no surprises in the agenda of today’s meeting, the governing body members were stunned when Bikash Baruah, who was slapped a life ban, today turned up to attend the meeting after getting the necessary permission from the High Court. Baruah also took part in the discussions.

The main items on agenda of today’s meeting were approval of the fincial report and a discussion on the development of cricket in the State.

President Gautam Roy and almost all top office bearers of ACA, including vice presidents Rakibul Hussain and Rani rah attend today’s meeting. However, another vice president Himanta Biswa Sharma, a candidate for the president’s post of the next committee, missed the meet as he is not in station. There was a lot of hue and cry over fincial reports of the past years of the ACA but it was passed today without any major discussion. A top ACA official today admitted that there was hardly any discussion in the meeting over the accounts, from 2009 to 2015, which was passed today. Meanwhile, Gautam Roy today officially announced that he will not contest in the next ACA elections. Talking to mediapersons just after the meeting, a downcast Roy, who lost the assembly elections this time, said, “I have no plans to contest in the next election of the Assam Cricket Association.”
