Assam panchayat polls : Filing nominations for phase II ends today

GUWAHATI: The filing of nominations for the second phase of panchayat polls slated to be held on December 9 in ten districts will conclude on November 19. Nomination papers are being filed for 169 Zila Parishad Constituencies, 895 AP members, 895 GP presidents and 8950 GP members in the ten districts. Meanwhile, the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers for the first phase of panchayat poll is November 19. With this the number of candidates to be in fray in the first phase of panchayat poll slated for December 5 in the State will be known. Meanwhile, the Congress published its list of ZPC candidates for the second phase of the rural poll on Sunday.
