Criminal Investigation Department carried out search operations at Kamakhya, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) on Wednesday carried out search operations at the house of Riju Sarma, a former member of the erstwhile ‘Kamakhya Debutter Board’, with respect to alleged financial irregularities amounting to several crores of rupees in Kamakhya Devalaya. The CID has seized a number of documents, informed sources. Recently, the Supreme Court had directed the CID to carry out an investigation into the matter and submit its report to the Court within three months. After this directive, the CID registered the case (1/2020 u/s 120 (B)/406/201 IPC).
