Guwahati, Feb 3: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday held a high-powered committee meeting with top officials in the premises of Assam Legislative Assembly to clear the decks for setting up six mega projects in Assam.
The six projects involve an investment of around Rs 1000 crore. The meeting also decided to accord mega status to all the projects. Modalities have also been cleared to pave a way for the projects to start operations soon. The projects are expected to generate direct employment for 20,000 people and indirectly benefit another one lakh. Chief Minister Gogoi asked Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia to attach top priority for creating a more investor -friendly climate for ease of doing business and setting up more projects in the State.
Industries and Commerce Minister Siddeque Ahmed, Chief Secretary VK Pipersennia, Additiol Chief Secretary KV Eapen, Commissioner and Secretary HK Sharma and other top officials were present at the meeting.
