Despite Fince department nod, posts yet to be filled up

BY OUR STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, June 7: In a State where government jobs are hard to come by, a strange situation has arisen in which posts sanctioned by the Fince department itself were not filled by various concerned departments. This has forced the Fince department to extend the validity of the posts up to the end of the current fincial year. In case the posts are still not filled up by March 31 next year, approval for the posts will lapse automatically.

The State Fince (SIU) department has now asked different departments to complete the process of filling up sanctioned vacant posts approved by the department within stipulated time, failing which fincial approval will lapse automatically.

The Fince (SIU) department’s order came following the failure of certain departments in Dispur to complete the process of appointment to essential vacant posts, against which fincial approval was accorded.

The Fince department in an office memorandum, a copy of which is available with The Sentinel, said that the department has decided to extend the validity for filling up of essential vacant sanctioned posts approved by it to March 31, 2017.

“The Fince department had extended the validity for filling up of the vacant posts approved by the department since 2012-13 up to March 31, 2016 but a number of departments could not complete the appointment process within the stipulated time and approached the Fince department for further extension. In view of that, it is now decided that the approvals already accorded by Fince (SIU) for the period from 2012-13 to 2016-17 shall be extended for a further period up to March 31, 2017,” stated the office memo.

It further stated that approval for filling up of vacant posts issued for this period will remain valid up to March 31, 2017, and it would automatically lapse thereafter.
