GUWAHATI, July 26: Even after the July 7, 2015 verdict from the Supreme Court, the dispute over Kamakhya Temple property seems to be far from over. This is the impression what the newsmen in Guwahati got from Kamakhya Devottar Board (KDB) secretary ba Sarma today. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today, Sarma said: "In its July 7, 2015 verdict the apex court has asked us to hand over the charge of Kamakhya temple to the Bordeori Samaj. The Kamrup (M) district administration to execute its directive is executing the directive issued by the Supreme Court."

However, Sarma said, the media coverage has got a wrong message across in society. "The Kamakhya Devottar Board is still alive as the Supreme Court hasn't dissolved it. The apex court has also not passed any comment on the constitution of the Kamakhya Devottar Board. The Supreme Court has only asked us to hand over the assets of the Kamakhya Temple premises to the Bordeori Samaj within four weeks from July 7, 2015. Yes, we are going to hand over the assets of the Kamakhya temple premises to the Bordeori Samaj within the time stipulated by the Apex court. However, we aren't going to hand over the property built by us in the entire Neelachal Hill as these property are not within the verdict of the court."
