NEW DELHI, Feb 24: With an aim to preserve and protect the traditiol handloom and handicrafts of the north-eastern States, the DoNER Ministry has initiated exclusive schemes for the preservation of traditiol skills. Rs 25 crore was sanctioned to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for training approximately 8153 candidates by March 2018. This also includes bamboo, handicrafts, weaving to enhance traditiol skills. “The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, through its various organizations, supports the development and preservation of traditiol handloom and handicrafts skills,” said a senior DoNER Ministry official.
