From a Correspondent
New Delhi, Sept 17: In an attempt to keep a tab on several tiol projects launched in Northeast, the Centre on Thursday launched a hi-tech online "e- Portal" for submission, surveillance and follow up of development projects.
All these projects come under the category of Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resource (NLCPR). Launching the portal, DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh said that in order to overcome delays, the portal will be programmed to send automatic computerized reminders to the State Governments and others concerned.
"This has a special relevance for the DoNER Ministry because this is a region based ministry and the projects are submitted by the eight different States of Northeast," he said adding "this will also avoid complaints regarding delays or extraneous considerations including corruption, etc." "The new portal will also help in keeping track of various stages of project activities among different departments and ministries including the Planning departments of north eastern state governments, line ministries of Government of India etc," Singh said. Meanwhile, galand Chief Minister T R Zeliang called on Singh and discussed various issues related to the development of the State as well as the current political scerio in galand.
