Gogoi blows trumpet, gets schoolkids to watch!

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, Jan 27: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has often been criticizing the All Assam Students Union (AASU) for bringing school students to participate in its programmes, particularly while staging demonstrations and protests.

On Wednesday, Gogoi himself did something which is equally deplorable.

More than 100 students - mostly those of Upper Primary level - were lined up at Anuradha Cine Complex to watch a documentary which he released today.

The documentary titled "The Other Side of Millennium" is a depiction of the Congress government's 15 year rule in the State "from the beneficiaries' point of view". The documentary is a detailed account of the Tarun Gogoi-led government's 15 years performance in delivering governce to the people.

The Congress government plans to screen the documentary at villages in the run-up to the assembly elections.

Critics were stunned at the move to bring school students to view the documentary. "What will they understand? Why were students brought to a 'political' programme during school hours?" several concerned citizens were heard loudly wondering.
