HC notice to Government

GUWAHATI, June 13: In addition to the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the lynching of Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath at Panjuri under Dokmoka police station in Karbi Anglong district last Friday filed by Seema Bhuyan, the Gauhati High Court on Wednesday took suo motu cognizance of the case. The High Court has asked the State Government to inform it as to what effective measures have been taken to arrest the wrongdoers, besides action taken against the erring officials in the incident within two weeks. The High Court has listed the PIL and the suo motu case together which is going to be heard on June 19.
