Himanta: Won't pay cut nor restrict employees from participating in the ‘Ceasework’

GUWAHATI: The State government will neither resort to pay cut nor restrict employees from participating in the ‘Ceasework’ call on Wednesday as given by the Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) opposing the CAA-2019. It will be adjusted against the Casual Leave quota of the respective employees. Informing this to media here on Tuesday, State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma added, “I request the government employees, teachers, and doctors not to participate in such movements during duty hours from Thursday onwards.”

Minister Sarma, however, warned, “We’ll take strong action against any government employee taking part in any political party-backed agitations. But, they can take part in any agitation of the employees’ organizations.”
