IPL Betting: 2 Held By Darrang Police

MANGALDAI: A team of police, led by Officer-in-Charge Inspector Niranjan Barua, as per instruction of the Superintendent of Police of Darrang, Amrit Bhuyan, laid a trap and arrested one Shashangka Shandillya of LNB Road at Tengabari here over IPL betting. Taking a clue from the arrested bookie, the police arrested Prakash Gupta, originally of Tangla town and now residing in Mangaldai in a rented house. Some vital documents and records recovered from their cellular phones were seized by the police. Both the accused were produced before the judicial court here and the court remanded them to judicial custody in Mangaldai District Jail.
