It's a war of words between the Congress & BJP, literally

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, Jan 1: Amid the mudslinging between the Congress and the BJP, two hoardings put up by the parties in Guwahati have been a talk of the town.

One says 'Notun Bosor, Notun Sankalpa, Notun Udyam' (New Year, New Pledge, New Enthusiasm). The other reads 'Notun Bosor, Notun Sinta, Notun Axom' (New Year, New Thoughts, New Assam). Don't be confused. The hoardings have been not put up by the same party or by "like-minded" parties. The first was put up by the Congress and the second by the BJP.

It is not clear which party put up the first hoarding, but it is obvious that the second is a counter to the first.

But observers said it was the Congress which had started the hoarding/ poster campaign in the State in a big way. The BJP's response was quick and witty, as it literally had word-by-word counters to the Congress campaign.

The same words used by the Congress were tweaked by the BJP to launch a counter-campaign. In the process, Congress' 'Bikax' (development) became 'Bix' (destruction) in the BJP's counter campaign; Similarly, Biswax (trust) became Biswaxghat (betrayal). The BJP even modified the Congress' hand symbol to resemble that of a witch.

The Sentinel has earlier reported that both the Congress and the BJP have roped in teams of professiol election strategists to mage their campaigns.

Prashant Kishor, once the campaign mager of Prime Minister rendra Modi's professiol support team Citizens for Accountable Governce (CAG), is maging the campaign for the Congress in the State. His former team members, including IIT and IIM graduates, have been roped in by the BJP to mage its campaign. Both the teams have also launched an aggressive campaign in the social media.

No wonder the ideas would be alike and similar.
