’Land erosion a serious problem in Palasbari’

GUWAHATI, January 22: As part of the State BJP’s ongoing massive membership drive across the State, several prominent people, including noted social worker and sports organizer Kushaljyoti Malakar, of Mirza on the outskirts of the city, joined the party in presence of its State president Siddhartha Bhattacharya at a programme held on Thursday.

The BJP has set a target to include 25 lakh people as its members. Already 16 lakh people from across the State have joined the party so far.  While addressing the gathering, Bhattacharya said, “We have set a target to bag 84 seats in the State in the next year’s Assembly elections and Palasbari constituency is also a part of our mission.”  He slammed the present Congress government and the earlier AGP government for the lack of development in the Palasbari area.  Expressing his serious concern over land erosion problem in the area, the BJP president criticized the State Water Resources Department for its negligence.
